Today was a super busy day for my network. For the first time after two months, both of my company key internet lines went down for no reason.
The weather was raining and thunder could be heard. Thinking it is my network equipment issue, I purge all the NAT translations/ connections on my network. Still cannot, I reported the fault to my ISP while hard reset my routers.
Frankly, I doubt my routers are at fault as i monitor them every hour. Still cannot so I called my ISP and asked what's wrong. Still after 15 mins, nothing. Finally 30 minutes later, the internet lines went back alive.
My ISP helpdesk cannot tell me what happened nor the teleco whom they took the main line from. But based on earlier experience, I know the problem lie with the teleco as they always love to do things without informing their customers.
Still I will need to be busy deploying more nodes to monitor my internal and external network. Luckily my main internet line is due to renewal so got a big bargaining chip to play with my ISP.
