Daily Life: Visit to Johor Bahru, Malaysia on 15 June 2008

Yesterday I went to JB with my brothers and their girlfriends. And no, I was not a 'light bulb' We went in to enjoy ourselves before my youngest brother to into the army for his National service (NS) while my second brother goes in for his one week 'vacation' reservist training and to celebrate my second brother's girlfriend birthday.

The journey was eventful from the beginning, my second brother's girlfriend forgot to bring her eazylink bus card so have to buy one at the Bishan MRT. That was 3/4 journey to bishan where we park our car. By the time we reach kranji MRT at 12pm, it was crowded on the SBS bus 170 going into woodlands checkpoint.

Once we reach city square, the ladies went shopping and we as guys follow through. Basically we are visiting shoes, perfume and clothes. There was a wedding roadshow and before we went to holiday plaza, my second brother and his girlfriend went to find out on the pricing.

While at holiday plaza, the ladies went to do their nails and cost only RM$240 for two people. A similar package will cost S$130 per lady. Guys like us went to see car stickers and movies available. My brothers tease their girlfriends later have to be careful with their nails (Chinese vampire movement). Dinner was cheap and good. For RM80 we have a medium curry fish head, one medium sambal kangkong, deer meat, large hot plate beancurd, medium small mixed veg and 7 plates of rice.

Journey back was as usual a rush as we are late (9.30pm left the hawker centre) Plus yesterday only have just too many people coming back; not enough counters open for passport scanning (rest are for access cards). By the time we reach home, it is already 12.15am
