Daily Life: Busy Day

This week is a super week for me. I have to run between Singapore and Malaysia due to a customer project which is scheduled to kick off next week.

Since I am well verse in network infrastructure, I am entrusted to setup the network at my Malaysia plant. Not too bad for a start since this is the first time I make full use of my knowledge to set up a IP range, remote connection, testing of the network etc.

On another note, the market goes through a turmoil. Since last Monday (Sept 8) those who are monitoring the stock market, know that Lehman brothers is in bad shape and talks with a south korean banks fail through. Come Sat (Sept 13) Fed has a urgent meeting which conclude the combination of Merrill Lynch with Bank of America. Talks between Lehman brothers and Barclay Bank failed on Sunday so on Monday (Sept 15), for the first time since the start of the subprime, Lehman brothers filed for Chapter 11 (Bankruptcy) and AIG, the largest insurancer, got its ratings cut by all the banks which lead to a 500 points drop in Dow jones index.

As I am writing this posting, Dow jones is down for another 175 points after AIG takes the Fed US$85Billion loan. Looks like next year the final curtain will be drawn with the market going down to at least 10,500 and below for Dow Jones after Chinese New Year. (just a hinch, a gut feeling that the financial issue is just closed its second curtain and still got one more curtain to go)
