Daily Life: I saw someone spit on the bus

This morning, as usual I told SBS bus 135 to office. I thought it will be a simple ride but boy was i wrong.

I for the first time, is introduce to the rude and selfish individualistic of elderly Singaporean. What happened was i was sitting on the first bench facing the length of the bus. Right in front to my right is a elderly Singaporean aged around 65 to 70 years of age. He started to clear his throat and spit a lump of saliva onto the bus floor. He continue to do it four times for the duration of his 'stay' on the bus.

I was completed shocked and do not know if it is appropiate to sound him out. With SARS just over under 10 years, the last thing I will see is someone spitting on the bus. In any enclosed public environment like on a bus, germs can spread like wildfire. If he is a younger individual, I will most likely scold him. But being an elderly.... I guess he has only so many years left.
