Daily Life: Its the small things that are overlook which are important

Two weeks ago I was watching 'House' on cable. The episode is about 6 babies who are infected by a deadly virus within hours of being born in the hospital. House as usual is eager to resolve the case and after 1 death (she was to die as the case to find out which medicine is working and which is not, seems the babies are treated with two different drugs at the same time), managed to isolate the correct drug and save the remaining 5 babies. They are unable to find out the root cause though until the end of the episode.

What happened was House, towards the end, saw a newborn care nurse, a elderly, who was holding a basket of soft toys sneezing away. The nurse was sick and spread the illness unknowingly and unwillingly to the soft toys which are later given to the baby during the visit. It's a small step and often overlooked (the hospital went through a full clean-up).

Likewise in life, there are factors that are external and those that can be controlled. Vry small problems like not clearing out the email storage when its full of emails that are either for info or keep for the '
what if' situation. We failed to see the big picture and understand that by our in-actions or lack of actions, we may doom the email system (just a example). There are many more such cases, like casual sex, speeding on the road etc.

Let 2010 be the year we remind ourselves to see the picture and fully understand that no matter how small the issue is, it's impact on the big picture is real and huge regardless of what it is.
