IT: The first look at replacement for HP 5310M

As in my previous review on the HP 5310M, its been a year since then and the Intel i3/i5/i7 series processor are replacing the older Core 2 Duo powered machines. There is a new model for the HP 5300 series notebooks, the HP 5320M. It is of the same weight as the previous model the HP 5310M with 2 key changes,

1) Its processor are now the i series (review is on the I5-450M: The processor is good for data crunching and basic video editing)
2) There is a VGA output connector sitting next to the display port connector. It's more flexible in operating as most projectors are still VGA-only connection n display port to VGA just does not make business sense

Other than that, all remains the same. The keyboard remains full-sized and well spaced for large fingers.

One bad part had nothing to do with hardware but its software package. It comes default with too much trial software like office 2010, Corel office (on the same machine, what the hell!!),winzip, macfee. True, a SOHO user may feel at ease with them but since they are trial, they simply do not cut to be used in a business environment where there are standardize packages to be used. The other HP programs like its HP advisor and protect manager just add more size to a already bloated OS like windows 7

My advise is if ur production environment is using all HP machines, then it will make sense to use the HP packages to use. Otherwise, just uninstall them to save some memory and hard disk for your users. They will appreciate the faster start-up time.
