Daily Life: Day Two in Penang

I had a good night sleep in Hotel royal Penang. Its a five star hotel along Jalan Burma and due to the Penang bridge marathon, the room from friday to sunday is RM145 include transport to the area.

The room has all the animetities of a five star hotel and the room i am staying in 1819 is facing the Penang bridge. Yesterday when i arrived at Penang, the coach took the bridge and i can see why i have a good run tomorrow, Its very slow with up and down slope. think I will enjoy the run and scenery rather than try to break my 2hrs40mins timing.

I decided to go visit Penang Plaza first which is next to the hotel to grab some breakfast n drinks for tomorrow run. There is food n bread sold there and the pricing is within RM2 for fried rice and RM4 for bread so i guess it is a good deal. However there is no cinema in Penang Plaza and the nearest is at Gurney Plaza which will cost another RM21 to go there by cab. I attempt to go to 238 Jalan Burma by foot but decided not to as the roads in Penang unlike in KL & SG do not have walking path for walkers so walking on the road is not really a safe affair in my opinion.

I grabbed my breakfast/lunch at one of the coffeshop along the street and ordered Hokkien mee. Its a more soupy version than the one in SG and looks more like prawn mee than hokkien mee but its good, not too spicy.

Then I went to the Bakery shop behind the hotel and bought some egg tarts and yam cake. The egg tart is in the orginal and kaya version. Very different from what I can get in SG. Its also taste good for RM1.90. in SG the same size egg tart will cost around S$1.80 so i guess Penang food is cheaper.
