Today is the last day of my reservist for year 2012. Each year I am going back for reservist for the past 8 years and very quickly, i will complete the requirement for 10 years and stand-down.
This time round we have a National education tour which explains the need for the various race in Singapore to work together and respect each other race/ religion. After which we brush up on our gunnery skills at the infantry simulation. It is very different from what is shown to the public and more of an eye opener for us in HQ where we don't go out to field much other than to support the various company exercises.
This is also the first year where smartphones with camera can be bought into came though only those with screen less than 4.3" and to limited areas in the camp. It makes it easier to communicate with the office when there is urgent items for us to handle our civilian jobs. Standard military rules still apply: no photography and video filming etc.
Looking forward to complete my final ICT in 2014. :)
