Daily Life: Day 1 in Muar for Muar 21K run on June 16

As part of my plan to run only 21K and above in races, I am taking part in the Muar 21K.  Muar is a royal town in Johor and is a 3hrs coach ride from Lakin. There is no direct bus from Singapore to Muar. Earlier in May i booked a ticket from Lakin on KKKL to Muar. My coach was 1.30pm and i only managed to reach the Lakin bus terminal at 12.30pm due to the long queue at the Malaysia Custom.

I reached Hentian Maharani Bus Station just around 4.45pm and I started to walked from the bus to the hotel I am staying. As i don't have a map of Muar with me, i depend on a screenshot of a map on my phone. Still i got lost and as there is no pedestrian crossing, i have to cross the road by timing the cars. I got my direction from a nearby hardware shop shop owner who was kind enough to show me where it is.

The hotel is called Elite hotel and is just above the old town white coffee. I was able to reach the hotel as I told the shop owner i was going to old town white coffee. Looks like it is a popular spot around. The room is spacious and the internet speed good for a royal town like Muar.

I went for a run from the small park at the pier up towards the muar bridge to Tanjung Agas Micron, turn back and run towards the Marina. There is a small park for running so i had a good run there. There was no distance to gear how far i went but based on the distance, it should be within 10K.Later I had Macdonalds dinner with my colleague n her husband. They have come for the same run. After dinner they went back to their hotel (they are staying at Hotel D99) while i continue to do my grocery shopping. I also walked to Jalan Haji Abu (Chinese), famously known as "T'am Cjia Kuay" (贪吃街) for a bowl of wanton noodles.

I will be meeting my colleague to collect the race pack from Chung Hwa High school at 11am. A friend of ours is getting her sister to drive us there. Based on the map, i think i know the location as I ran past the area just now.
