Right after my KL trip, I was thrown into the move of my office from AMK to Woodlands. It was a nightmare in the making as there is tons of items to take care of. From getting the internet line ready, testing it and ensuring that AMK and woodlands site can talk to each other takes longer than usual.
Even after we moved to woodlands, I am still having to come back to AMK to test out some network issues, server issues and other critical issues. On the whole, the move is a very tiring one and eye-opener. Its rare that IT has a front row seat in this and many items though are outsourced to vendor to do, must still be tied down with the various departments heads whom may have their own area to worry about.
One good thing out of this move is I get to exercise on a daily basis as i need to walk from Sembawang MRT to my office which is 15 mins walk away. Night time is another 15 mins walk back to take MRT to AMK Hub then bus to home. As my new office is in the industrial area, after 7pm there is no much activity beyond those working night shift.
